Born on 31st March, 1914 in Mexico city , he got learned at the National University of Mexico. It was in 1937 that he fought the famous Spanish Civil War and after a time as a left wing journalist and a diplomat (1946-1951) he focused on writing.
A Mexican poet, essayist, and political thinker reflects many imposing influences through his works such as the Marxism, Surrealism and Aztec mythology. “El Laberinto De La Soledad” (1950) was the only first of his books that brought him to limelight exploring Mexico’s heritage. “Piedra Del Sol”(1957) one of his famous and a very lengthy poem symbolized the loneliness of individuals and their search for their union with others, such incredible works of his made him deserving of the Noble Prize for Literature with which he was awarded in 1990. His other publications include collected poems :- 1957-1987(1988), One Earth, Four or Five Worlds/Tiempo Nublado(1984).
