Famous artists of Mexico


                             
Octavio Paz
Born on 31st March, 1914 in Mexico city , he got learned at the National University of Mexico. It was in 1937 that he fought the famous Spanish Civil War and after a time as a left wing journalist and a diplomat (1946-1951) he focused on writing.
A Mexican poet, essayist, and political thinker reflects many imposing influences through his works such as the Marxism, Surrealism and Aztec mythology. “El Laberinto De La Soledad” (1950) was the only first of his books that brought him to limelight exploring Mexico’s heritage. “Piedra Del Sol”(1957) one of his famous and a very lengthy poem symbolized the loneliness of individuals and their search for their union with others, such incredible works of his made him deserving of the Noble Prize for Literature with which he was awarded in 1990. His other publications include collected poems :- 1957-1987(1988), One Earth, Four or Five Worlds/Tiempo Nublado(1984).
Jose Emilio Pacheco
Born on June 30, 1939, this writer got learned from his grandfather and attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico. A Mexican poet and author who achieved renown throughout the Spanish speaking people with his works was also considered as the “Literary Lion” winning numerous awards in Latin America. He came into limelight in 1960’s with his early poetry resonated with surrealist and symbolic imagery but soon turning to simpler style. Mr. Pacheco’s precision, restraint and balance made “the sense of evil and disaster in the poem more striking”. His collection of short stories, essays and poems were translated into many different languages.
Elvia Garcia Ardalani

  
Born on June 4, 1963 in Heroica Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico was an assistant professor in the department of modern languages and literature at the University of Texas-Pan American. Her first book titled Por Recuerdos Viejos, Por Esos Recuerdos(1989) became very famous and was nominated for the Jose Fuentes Mares Prize for Literature making her the first woman nominated for this award. Her books followed on were De Cruz Y Media Luna was published by Tierra De Libros in 1996, Y Comeras Del Pan Sentado Junto Al Fuego was published by Claves Latinoamericans in 2002, Miercoles De Ceniza was published by Editorial Miguel Angel Porrua in 2007. Some of his books were nominated for Carlos Pelicer Iberoamerican prize in poetry. Her literary journal is El Collar De La Paloma ( The Neckring of The Dove).
